A high-level debate of the European People’s Party will take place on 10 December in Austria with the participation of Spitzenkandidat Manfred Weber and Chancellor Sebastian Kurz
On 10 December, with six months to go until the May 2019 European elections, the EPP Group in the European Committee of the Regions (EPP-CoR), together with the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) and the European People’s Party (EPP), will organise a high-level debate entitled ‘A Europe closer to its citizens, a Europe that delivers and protects’ in Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria.
The Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz and Manfred Weber, the EPP candidate for the Presidency of the European Commission (Spitzenkandidat) will join politicians elected at national, regional and local level across Europe for the event. Together they will send a strong signal for a united and value-based Europe, closer to its citizens, delivering and protecting on the ground. A central theme will be ‘unity in diversity’ – how our cultures, identities and common values can contribute to a stronger sense of European identity.
